Good Evening Everyone.......

Can anyone please do a check on the bars on the following medal please.....

230 CORPORAL C.J. WILLIAMS, B.S.A. POLICE

Bars: CAPE COLONY, RHODESIA, ORANGE FREE STATE, TRANSVAAL, SOUTH AFRICA 1901

I understand that the following is a list of bars issued to the BSAP and the quantities........

CAPE COLONY - 397
RHODESIA - 1015
ORANGE FREE STATE - 77
TRANSVAAL - 625
SOUTH AFRICA - 521

So therefore if he is entitled to all of these bars he is interesting because he is one of 77 and he has 4 state bars on his medal.....

Any assistance greatly accepted.....

Morning Mike

He earned Rhodesia with the BSAP then joined Kitchener's FS, number 823, to earn CC,OFS,T,SA01. He died of disease Heilbron 17-11-1901.

Nice medal with those state bars.

I assume BBM's numbers are for clasps earned only with the BSAP?

Good Morning and Thanks Meurig........

Yes I also believe that the numbers of bars were the ones only for service while with the BSAP......
There was an article in OMRS Journal many years ago, cannot find now as most of my books are in storage that gave a breakdown on the numbers.....
I did not know about the KFS service or that he died of disease......
