Morning all,

I have the opportunity to buy the below described set of medals

See attached Boer issue Boer war medal issued to G.C. Davidtzs. Comes with WWI, WWII and WWII Africa medals all under the same name?

Any info and Valuation would be appreciated

I think Davidtzs is a Jewish surname. The following book may be of help:
'Boerejode - Jews in the Afrikaner Freedom Struggle, 1899 - 1902'. by Davis Saks. (Publication details unknown.)

There is often (or even always) a premium added to the value of medals awarded to Jews. You will also need to give details of the other medals in the group in order to get an estimate of value.

Hello

There is a "George Christiaan DAVIDTZ" listed as Korporaal attached to the Wes Transvaal Kommando on the Forsyth roll.

I would be interested to see the WWI and WWII medals too if possible.

regards
Thomas

Thanks all.

The medals went for 5000 ZAR, which is about £230 on a Facebook forum. I was in a meeting and missed the final bid. Gutted as I would probably have paid more than that....
