A number of years ago I acquired medals to a John Fulton, 1st Imp. Yeomanry. I had forgotten about the comment that appeared on his papers to the effect that he was present at "Prinsloo's surrender, Senekal, Bethlehem"

Could someone please shed some light on what surrender this was?

Regards

Rory

This was the surrender of Boer forces in the Brandwater Basin - the second major surrender after Paardeberg. Christian de Wet and his men made his escape but the majority surrendered. The operations to surround the Boers here is marked with the Wittebergen clasp.
