Baldwin's say Agent Conning’s parent unit was the Army Service Corps. Entitled to QSA (5) Paarderberg, Driefontein, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill, Belfast.

QSA (0) Cape Colony (Agent J. Nugent. F.I.D.), unevenly toned, good extremely fine and lustrous

Morton and Eden say Agent J Nugent is confirmed on the Q.S.A. Medal Roll as having served with the Field Intelligence Department, with entitlement as above.

The medal to Robert Hart Pringle (1840-1909) is certainly battered but I find it fascinating that the authorities decided the rank should be 'Agent or Guide'.
