Hi,
How would I establish if Attfield Percy Edgar Private 7444 Source: QSA Medal Rolls actually received his medal? I also need information on his birth date when he joined and when he left the army. He was wounded in the right hip or upper leg but I dont know at which place.

Kind regrds
Percy

Hello Percy

He was in the Imperial Yeomanry so his papers survive at The National Archives, London. You will need to visit yourself or employ a researcher to get the papers copied.

Unless the medal roll itself (on Ancestry.co.uk) states the medal was returned one assumes the recipient received the medal.

I would be interested to learn more of his wounding - it isn't in the official casualty rolls, perhaps it was accidental?
