I have just purchased a 1890 Pattern Cavalry Sword (as used during the Anglo Boer War) in a local Auction, which I will photograph and post in due course.

It bears various Regimental issue marks including the 4th Royal Irish Dragoons; Dorset Yeomanry and Hampshire (Carabiniers) Yeomanry

My main problem is the blade. It is dated 1889 and, along with various Enfield inspection marks, bears a manufacturers initials Y.C.M.

Does anyone know who Y.C.M. was/were????
