The BMR were raised in 1894 and integrated into the Natal Mounted Rifles in 1914. They did much service in Natal during the ABW. One of their badges -

Or perhaps I should address you as Sir, British made, Victorian BMR badges, plates, accoutrements and furniture does not turn up very often, so I think you are quite lucky, I've always found this period, as far as the Natal Volunteers are concerned, to be the most interesting, after the war, the rot set in. :(
I really don't think most people realise just how rare these things actually are.
