Hi Dudley,

Some very nice examples; I take these are from your collection.

I have a bandoleer similar to the second but badge collecting is my main interest.
Is the last one the Royston combined rifle sling and bandoleer?

regards,

Iain

Hullo Iain

Indeed, they are all part of the collection. I also prefer collecting badges but these came my way some time ago and found it hard to say no!!

The Sam Brown sword frog is dated 1897. I am not sure when they changed the "O" ring metal fittings on Sam Brown belts to the later "D" ring type but believe that it was in the early 1900s. That is what dates this belt to ABW and earlier.

Kind regards

Dudley

Hi Dudley,

good that you can date the Sam Brown to the ABW.

My big problem is space. With just badge collecting the walls of my study are filled and were I to expand into the passage........

kind regards, Iain
