If CTG is Cape Town Guard, do you know what the SG means?

Does that mean there are potentially a wide range of badges to the different companies?

Thank you for that. I presume there were indeed many variations of badges (I have two in total).

In regards the SG; in the book by Davey under designation he says 'Scott's', so just a guess but it may refer to 'Scott's Guard' (23rd Company of the Cape Town Guard).
