For anyone with a spare 50,000 CHF (£45,000 GBP) in their pocket, the "Farouk" striking of the gold British Empire Medal is coming up at SINCONA Auction 96, on 26 May 2025.
Compared with the 1901 striking, the three Farouk medals (gold, silver & bronze) are 2 mm larger in diameter and 2 mm thicker at the rim. I will be writing a piece highlighting other differences in due course.
