PICTURE OF FOUR RETURNING VETERANS ORIGINALLY FROM SCARBORO WITH A MAPLE LEAF IN BACKGROUND AND THE WORDS “SCARBORO WELCOMES HER HEROES” AND THE YEAR 1901 (Have tried to Identify people in pictures with no luck yet).....

MOUNTED ON A DOUBLE SILK RIBBON (Red, White and Blue sewn on to a Tan ribbon) WITH “WELCOME / SCARBORO'S SONS / FROM / SOUTH AFRICA / JANUARY 1901” WITH A STRAIGHT PIN ON REVERSE FOR WEARING.....

TO QUOTE S.A. MEDALS BOOK: Scarboro is a wealthy inner city residential neighbourhood of Calgary, Alberta. In 1901 is was semi-rural with large Victorian houses..... It is now a part of the inner city, population of the city at this time was appox. 5500 permanent residents and now 1,285,000......
