Yes, I lived in Toronto for 40 years, and heve great interest in the various military memorials there.
The ABW memorial is still a striking feature of University Avenue, though having to resist repeated
attempts by history-ignorant yahoos to have it demolished.
I moved to Victoria, BC, 20 years ago.

Hammond's father had a portrait painted of him that was presented to the school he attended.....

I am trying to track down the location of that portrait....

But now living in Victoria it may be a bit hard LOL......

There was also another fiction book written about the actions of the Canadian Scouts in South Africa.....

THE GREAT KAROO, by Fred Stenson published in 2008....

The funny thing is he used the actual names of real members of the Scouts in his novel. Of the five main characters I have two sets of medals in my collection and I know where two more are located....
