Hi
Although this medallion is not directly linked to the Boer War, the subject is a Boer General, famous for his exploits in the Cape Colony. Later, in WWI he became a British Field Marshall and he was the only signatory on both the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 and the treaties that ended World War Two.
The medallion is massive : 106mm dia and 450gm.
