Hi

To introduce myself - Tony Ward, of Bundanoon Australia. My grand father Thomas Ward was born Willmarmore, Cape Colony on 8th December 1884. He served in the Scotts Railway Guard Reg No. 31002 and then the 2nd Imperial Light Horse Reg. No. 773

I'd very much like to learn more of his life of this time and gain access to his Attestation Papers, please tell me where to go to, to gather this information?

Kind Regards
Tony Ward

Thank you, a good tip. Is there further information available, some where I saw some Attestation records, do you know where I can find my grandfathers records?

Kind Regards
Tony Ward

Tony

I wonder if his birthplace was 'Willowmore', not 'Willmarmore'?

The Cape Town Repository of the SA National Archives may have records of your grandfather. The SANA website will list such records, but you will need a local researcher to copy them.

Brett

Hello Tony,
If they have survived they will be in WO126/127-129 and WO126/55-65 respectively at Kew.
Regards Frank Kelley
