Hi all,
I realise these posts/questions are over 10 years old. But thought I put my info forward regardless.
Colonel Frank Makin is my great-great grandfather, from my mothers side. There was mention of the duffields as well, my mother’s cousins.
This branch of the family lived/lives in Sth Australia. Frank Makin was a doctor, he also owned a property near burra. His son, my grandfather, Frank Peter Makin worked for elders most of his life.
I don’t know about the other people mentioned in the previous posts, except that we are distant relatives!
I actually have colonel Franks dress sword. I was lucky enough to have it last to me from my grandfather as his only grandson. I will post a photo of it along with a photo of him wearing it for anyone of you still on here
