Hello,

I am a pathologist from Worcester, England. The Boer War has been my passion for nearly 40 years with a particular interest in books, printed items and printed ephemera which has led me to accumulate a very large library of Boer war material, I think the largest in private hands in the UK, possibly a wider area. Many of the illustrations in Ron Hackett's excellent bibliography are from my collection. I am always interested in bibliographic details of items "not in Hackett". I am also a medal and badge collector with a particular interest in tribute medals and gifts. I look forward to contibuting to the fora.

I forgot! I am also a long time member and past chairman of the Anglo-Boer War Philatelic Society. The Society has passed its 50th birthday and is a goldmine of knowledge on all aspects of the Boer War. I host the Northern meeting annually and new members are always welcome.

In Hackett's book, there is a newspaper called the Mexican Mercury, which was published on the voyage of the SS Mexican on its journey from Southampton to Cape Town in 1900. The SS Mexican sank after a collision on its return journey.

Do you have a copy, or know where a copy could be obtained ?
Alternatively, is it possible to obtain a scan of the publication ?

Regards

Adrian
