Hi

I've come across your site after finding a family member in the Boer War records, and wonder if anybody could help me find any more information please?

His name was Frederick Howard Clayton and he served in the Natal Volunteer Ambulance Corps from 10/12/1899 to 23/12/1899 and then seems to have joined the Railway Pioneer Regiment. Apparently his attestation papers are on this site but I haven't been able to access them. I'd appreciate any help

If his attestation papers for the RPR exist, they should be on this site. I will check that.

Clayton's attestation in WO126 is on this site, from the menu on the left, click on Unit Information, South Afican Attestation, Railway Pioneer Regt and then select the page for names begining with the letter C.

And thank you Frank for pointing me in the right direction. I've now found Frederick's attestation and it is definitely my family member.

Just one more question if I may - I can't read what it says against 'Cause of Discharge'. Can anybody else read it please?
