Thank you for having me.
To preserve my sanity during Covid house arrest I compiled mini-biographies of the bare list of surnames and initials on the
WWI/WWII war memorial in my little town of Sandy. . On completion a couple of months ago I presented my findings to the local history group, and the first question was, 'anything on the Boer War ? '. Thus triggered, I am currently working on the names on the outstanding Bedford Boer War Memorial outside the Swan Hotel on the banks of the Great Ouse and the nearby memorial tablets in St. Paul's Church, Many of which are just a surname & rank, and not all 100% correct, but I think I've identified most or at least have a service number and forename for them. So pleased to find this wonderful resource.

Hello DT@SANDY ,
Welcome to the ABW Forum.
If you have the time and inclination, I look forward to reading your research into the men named thereon the Bedford South Africa memorial. It is a region of the UK (as far as I am aware) that not a great deal has been contributed here, and would benefit from further study of the men who served in the conflict.
