My name is John Wainwright and although I joined quite a few years ago, this is only one of a handful of posts I have made. I am a researcher of Bedfordshire military history and a collector of Bedfordshire related, and Bedfordshire Regiment Medals. I am particularly interested in 7th Bedfords and their WW1 service. Many who served in the initial cadre were veterans of the Boer War and so as a medal collector of this unit, I have a few sets to men with both SA and WW1 entitlements. I manage 2 local history FB pages, Military Bedfordshire and Bedfordshire at Peace, and have a wide variety of collecting interests. I am an aviation professional living in Kazakhstan, however my home in the UK is literally a 30 second walk from the Bedford Boer War memorial.
