Awarded to William Dundas Smart 2nd Battalion King's Own Scottish Borderers, From Kirriemuir, Angus, Scotland. He also served in the Boer war with his brother James Smart (Bethunes mounted infantry) but he remained with the KOSB, he may have been wounded at Paarberg. Anyone help with info I would appreciate it as ever..... Shout out for London medal company for finding it.
He was my G-Grandfather's brother.

Martin

William was wounded at Paardeberg 21st February 1900 as per SAFF records.
He was a Lance Corporal 1st Battalion KOSB regimental number 1488.
His QSA medal would have had 4 clasps. Paardeberg, Johannesburg, Cape Colony and 1901 date clasp. His service papers are available on Ancestry and FMP, along with his medal rolls.

Casualty lists published in newspapers at the time put him amongst the "slightly" wounded at Paaderberg.

This is from the Newcastle Daily Chronicle 1st March 1900:
