I have a medal awarded to Burger A Smit. From the rear face I assume it is a Transvaal republic award. Does anyone have any information on A. Smit?

Unless you have more information, or know when the medal was issued, you can take your pick from the options listed below:



Depending on when the medal was applied for, the naming convention can sometimes narrow the recipient down to a single person - if you are lucky. All of the above are Transvaal recipients although it makes no difference as the OFS is on side of every medal and the Transvaal on the other.
