Lovely image. Not sure if you're asking for identification? There are no insignia and the uniform looks typical for a cavalryman, so I can't offer much info. The Lee Metford Cavalry Carbine suggests cavalry rather than mounted infantry. Photo taken in camp, he'd have worn a bandolier if going on patrol.
(Edit: on second thoughts, possibly he is wearing a bandolier, I can't be sure).
