I am a shooter and restorer of weapons from the flint era(s) to around 1914. I am fortunate enough to own a Boer Mauser with the previous owner's initials carven on the butt and one and a half Guedes rifles - one ZAR marked example has had it's barrel removed (?????) and the other lacks ZAR markings but is 'sporterised' in a Boer manner.

I also shoot Martini Henrys in both 303 and 450 as well as my Long Lee and hope to learn a little more about both Boer conflicts and the weapons used by all parties.

Hello Lochandubh
Welcome to the forum. There are some extremely knowledgeable people on this site regarding weaponry. I have added a couple of links for you to view as an example. With regards to any questions you may have relating to your weapon's from the ABW period, a photograph will help the forum experts to answer your requests.

Welcome to the forum, Lochandubh.

As Dave says, we do have some very knowledgable members when it comes to firearms and also carvings on Boer Mausers.
