On my travels today, I came across this very well maintained memorial to the South African conflict. It stands in pride of place right in the middle of the town square.
Details as follows :

ADDRESS: Cornhill, Bury St. Edmunds, St. Edmunds Bury, Suffolk, IP33 1DA.
ORDNANCE SURVEY GRID REFERENCE: TL8527964344
MAKER: MR. A. H. Hanchet (Mason)
Mr. Arthur G. Walker R. A. (Sculptor)
DEDICATED: 11/11/1904.
ATTENDED BY: VEN G. Hodges and
FM Lord Methuen GCB, GCMG, GCVO, GCB, CB, CMG

The Roll of Honour to be found on the plaques contains the names of 167 men who died as a result of their service. It would make a very doable project to research eadh individual thereon. As you will see from the panels the unit in which each served is given. As you would expect many were in the Suffolk and Essex Regiments with small numbers in the Imperial Yeomanry and Royal Artillery outfits.
Definitely worth a visit if you are in the vicinity.
