I have been informed that the uniform dates from before or after the 2nd Anglo/Boer War as evidenced by the noticeably curved front opening to the collar. Welcome to the forum, sorry for delay, I missed this post.
I have attached a few uniforms regarding the Coldstream Guards.
I didn't find your image. Hope this helps?
The 1st image looks close to your original, especially the guardsman on the left with regards to your mention of collar configuration - 1870 to 1880s perhaps?
The 2nd image is Anglo Boer War and the 3rd guardsman on the right also has a similar collar configuration, so your image may be 2nd Boer war. I would guess your mans uniform is between 1870 to 1902 but that is only my humble opinion. Apologies for not being precise.
