Hi

Is there a way to trace an entry for him in the A.S.C. Queen's Medal Roll and to thereby establish his service history and in which Company of the A.S.C. Thompson served?

I have found the Queen's Medal Rolls reflecting his service in the Colonial Scouts, 1st Bn. ILH and the 2nd Bn. ILH, but I cannot see any entry for him in the A.S.C. Queen's Medal Roll. I've found an entry related to him in the King's Medal roll for the A.S.C. though.

If anyone could give me any suggestions I'd be grateful.

Best regards
Peter Jordi

Hello Peter

This was a particularly attractive pair with the SA1901 clasp on the KSA. I did a lot of verification and made a bid for this but was pipped at the post by you, well done. I could find no trace of the QSA roll to the ASC for him, only the KSA roll. I have a similar group with the SA1901 on the KSA to a conductor in the ASC and again could not find any entry there for him, I have the original verification from Winnifred Scott and she too had no QSA entry. I have gone through the ASC civilian roll again, but there is no R. Thompson, a couple of Thompsons with different initials and numbers do appear. Hopefully someone can solve your mystery.

Regards
Jonathan
