Hi djb, I have actually just posted my question under the genealogy and family research category. John William Somers British Police Service. I know he was stationed in Mafikeng. Will you please have a look, I will really appreciate any information other than what I currently have. Thank you!

The Mafeking Siege Register by Colin Walker has "2521 Sgt.Maj. W.J.Somers" of the BSA Police (British South Africa Police) who earned the Clasps "Defence of Mafeking" and "Transvaal" on his QSA medal. Colin Walker obviously accessed the "Quick BSAP archive records" to correct Somers' regimental number. Perhaps you could contact that source for more info?
