I have joined the site in the hope of finding any information about my great grandfather, Hendrik Lodewyk Momberg. I understand he joined the Boer forces based in Pretoria but I have no information about his regiment or his service. I have photos of him in his commando uniform. I am aware he was also one of the "bittereindes" at the end of the war. We unearthed a cached of weapons and equipment buried by him at the family home in Pretoria around 30 years after his passing in 1950.

Welcome to the forum..... What a treasure trove to find..... I thought finding an old Buffalo skull in my grand parents garden was great..... The Boer side in not really in my field but I am sure that there will be many people her that will be able to help you.....
