I would like to find out about my grandfathers service in the boer war he was 32741 gnr john mcdonald the 6th coy the western division the royal garrision artillery.

Welcome to the forum.

He earned the QSA with clasps Cape Colony, Transvaal and Laing's Nek and KSA with 2 clasps.

It looks like there are service papers for him which should provide useful information.



These are available for free at the National Archives or at cost from FindMyPast.
