I have located the grave of my great grandfather that died in the war between the two skirmishes at Silkaats nek.
His name was Arrie Gerhardus Oberholzer and he died at a Mission station near the current Soshanguwe after being shot in the stomach on 12/07/1900 and passed away of his wounds on the 14/07/1900 at the age of 38. He was a veldkornet and part of the Marico commando and saw action with Manie Lemmer in Lobatse. I would appreciate any further info regarding him and the commando.

Nober,

Welcome to the forum.

There is very little information on the Boer Commandos during the war, The best we can often do is to piece together the movements for a Commando based on books, other histories and the forms completed by Commando members when applying for their ABO.
