This photo was taken by issac schofield in mersey road colchester around 1890 -1901.my great grandfather is on the right of the picture holding a riding crop he came from assington in suffolk

His name was william smith and he was born in 1875. Have found out he was called up in 1915 aged 40 and was called up for royal field artillery. But put on his papers no previous military service in his majesties forces
