Thought I would drop a line to introduce myself.
Henry Richard Brown is my Great Grandfather on my dads side of the family.
Born in 1872 he enlisted at the age of 18 years and 9 months in July 1890 to the 7th Dragoon Guards.
I have some details regarding his early days in the regiment......
Stationed in Umballa Canterbury between 1890-1891
Stationed in India (Muttia) between 1891-1893
Stationed in Egypt (Cairo) between 1893-1894
Stationed in England first at Shorncliffe and then Norwich between 1895-1897
After that little unsure what happened next but I have his QSC medal with both Cape colony and Orange Free state clasps.
His service number is 3772 and rank being private.
I`m interested in where i can find out any details regarding his time in Africa so can anyone suggest any books that would give me this information.
