Thanks to the thoughfulness and generosity of Berenice, I have received the CD described in the following link:
johnedmond.co.za/special-offer-1.html

A very interesting approach to the history of the Boer War! There is a different world out there that I knew nothing about. Even though it is late in my day, it is good to learn something new using my ears (that still function well), rather than my eyes (that do not).

I have had this sheet music knocking around for a long tiime. I once asked someone who claimed to be able to read music to play it. I was told rather sniffily that it was all "tum ti tum". I am not surprised at this as the first line of the score is headed Allegro Marziale ( which I take to mean Quick March or words to that effect ) The music was written for piano . On the back page, Darters & Sons of Adderley Street , Cape Town advertised the availability in sheet music of such timeless classics as " Ërica Waltz"and "Settlers City Waltz " also by Percy Ould and the rather oddly titled
, "Hot Not" by E M Reklaw

Fascinating!! I'll bet the Town Guard marched to the beat of a different Drum!

Good Morning Everyone...…

Just have a few in my collection of paperwork...… I intended to frame them all but only ended up doing one..... Looks like Ezra Read made a living off the Boer War and a couple by Theo Bonheaur……
