My paternal grandmother's birth certificate lists a Frank Harvey - Private, Lincolnshire Regiment as her father. There is no record of a marriage to my grandmother's mother even though she has stated herself as married to him on the birth cert. I think the Lincolnshire Regiment were active in the Boer War. The second batallion of the Lincolnshire Regiment was stationed in the Hounslow area around the time of her birth (1904) so I think this was his regiment. I am struggling to find any information on Frank Harvey and would be grateful if anyone can be of help. Would be very interested to find out much more about him.

Hi sce51, welcome to the ABW Forum. I had a quick look in the Queen's South Africa Medal (QSA) rolls for F.Harvey in the Lincolnshire Regiment and found a load of men by that name and initial but none in the Lincolnshire Regiment. I can just find an H.Harvey in the 2nd Bn (No.2822) and a C.Harvey in the 3rd (No.4809).

Cheers,

Mark
