I came across this on ebay. It may be of interest to somebody. It looks like a genuine piece to me but the fixings look more like those of a pouch badge or cross belt badge than those of a helmet plate. Also the DFH helmet plates I can find on google images have a circlet containing the unit name and date 1877 which goes around the crest. However, I know next to nothing about what uniforms and insignia they wore. I am not the seller!
