Hi all,

My great grandfather William Henry Cleary (b. 1867 London) and his brother Henry John Poole Cleary (b. 1869) both served the the Boer War.

William was a groom in the No 2 Remount Depot and family story is that he taught William Churchill how to ride a horse.

I believe Henry was in the Devonshire Regiment.

I am able to find Henry John's service record on Ancestry.ca but not able to find William's.

Any help finding service record would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Wendy

If William was a civilian then there will not be any service papers.
