No not as far as I know and not on his marriage cert and yes he was born in Carlow. Thank you for all your help Frank.

So in the photograph I assume he is the man on the left, well, I would say he would be regular British Army and from an infantry regiment, the little grenades on the collars of his colleagues are most unusual on khaki drill and serge, they look rather more like the little shoulder strap grenades that were worn in South Africa, certainly by the Dublin, Irish, Muster Fusiliers and so on.

Yes he is the man with the x above his head. I guess the guys he is with are from different regiments? as they all look like they have different uniforms. I would say he either joined the Royal Leinster or the Dublin Fusiliers as both those would be near where he could have signed up.

Also what is that fur? across his chest? I have been trying to look at British Uniforms and can't see anyone with that on them?

Not fur...... A rolled up blanket........ One of the ways of carrying it......
