I have a group of Australians visiting next month - they are High School history students commemorating their countrymen who fell in the Boer War, and they expressed some interest in the Plumstead Cemetery - can anyone tell me what is of interest there, and where it might be?

Yep. My Great-uncle and his wife are buried there. Not really worth a visit though. Oh there is also a CWGC Cemetery at the end of the lane from the office. It is many years since I was there and can not really remember much about it other than the graves of twin brothers who died on the same day and are buried side by side.
Maitland Cemetery, apart from having the grave of Lady Sale of Kabul and the diary, has a large CWGC section at the end of the lane. Many Boer War graves and interestingly of West African Service Men. I think there are some VCs as well
Let me know when and perhaps I will take the day off to visit Uncle Bill with you.
Looking for Salutries, Salootries and Veterinary Duffadars.

Hi David, Thank you so much for your input. I believe they plan to visit the cemetery tomorrow afternoon, if you do decide you'd like to meet up with them there (which would be fabulous!) please give their guide a ring after 09h00 and he can give you their eta at the cemetery. They are also going to visit the Maitland Cemetery - so I don't know in what order they will arrange these visits. warm regards. Kari
