hello, can anyone give an opinion on this Telegraph, top left corner is a number 5 might this be a 5th copy, or just a 5th sheet? I cant make out the other marks looks like SP KD LR etc, it is very fragile, it has a postmark for 27th Feb 1900 and it states this morning at 7.35 General Cronje Capitulated. As far as I am aware the original was sent to the war office at 7.45. is this a copy to someone else, or a copy of a copy? any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated regards saxon.

A very intriguing item Saxon.

I don't know what the letters signify but would be interested to hear what others think.

Hi Saxon......

One of the sets of initials would be the operator sending the message, one set would be the operator that received the message and one would be the manager he passed it on to for delivery....

I do not know the order but some I have done was in the form of a cross.....

Upper Left: Sending Operator

Upper Right: Receiving Officer

Lower Left: De-Coder if Applicable

Lower Right: Operator who made up envelope for delivery
