Thank you for showing this postcard. I am beginning to understand why collecting postcards is a compelling hobby!

The Pietermaritzburg Repository of the SA National Archives has two files relevant to the writer of this postcard:

1896 - Oliver Ripton Daniel was in a legal dispute with another man.

1917 - O Ripton Daniel applied for a prospecting permit.

I first read this as 'Don't shed more hair'!

I agree with David, not thought, but, enough! it was about 1.00am when I first glanced at your card, also have you noticed that these cards are postage pre-paid!

Looks like "Don't send more have enough of England now" to me. Referring to postcards?

Very interesting postcard which I haven't seen before. Part of the shell that hit the ILH orderly room was sold at the Spink Centenary sale in 1999 (Lot 208).
