The last few days have seen a large increase in the spam posts appearing on the site. To reduce this, new forum rules have been put in place.

1. Anyone with fewer than 3 posts will have to complete a captcha challenge before they can submit a post to the forum.

2. Anyone with fewer than 3 posts will need to have their posts approved by a site moderator before the posts appear on the site.

These measures will have no effect on regular users of the site but are intended to stop nuisance posters. I hope this will not delay legitimate new posts unduly.

Sounds like a very sensible solution to slow down the spammers. As you say will not impact on the usual suspects but will mean new memebers will need to go through a short qualifing period.

There has been no spam in the last 12 hours which is hopefully a good sign. We'll see how this goes.
