The Border Regiment chapel in Kendal parish church has this plaque In commemoration of those who served in G & H companies of 1st Volunteer Btn.The Border Regiment during The Boer War . (This is the photo which failed to attach to my earlier posting “ Kendal parish church plaques”)

That's a great picture. Many thanks for posting it.

I thought it was interesting that the names were engraved without the ranks but with their company.
