The arch is actually at the Royal School of Military Engineering, Brompton Barracks, Gillingham. While in the area a couple of years ago I noticed a memorial marked on my Medway area street atlas so went to the guardroom to ask permission to photograph it. I was given an armed Gurkha escort who was ordered to make sure that I only photographed the cenotaph so when I found that there were more memorials around the Parade Square I didn't dare ask the Gurkha if I could photograph them too. So below you can see part of the South Africa War arch in my photo of the Great War obelisk. I wasn't allowed to have any buildings showing in my photos so was limited in what views of the obelisk I could take.
