Dear All,

I have acquired the QSA DoK medal to a Trooper of the Kimberley Light Horse, Tpr Thompson j, who was KIA in the second action at Carter's Ridge on 28 November 1988. He is named on the Carter's Ridge Memorial which I do have a post card of, but also on the more recent dedicated 'Kimberley Light Horse Memorial' installed in the MOTH (Memorable Order of Tin Hats) Garden of Remembrance, Kimberley, over the weekend of 14 to 16 October 2011, during commemoration events to mark the anniversary of the Siege of Kimberley (14 October 1899 to 15 February 1900).

The memorial is pictured in the excellent article Military History Journal (Vol 15 No 5 - June 2012) article by Steve Lunderstedt, titled "THREE SIEGE MEMORIALS UNVEILED IN KIMBERLEY, 14-15 OCTOBER 2011". What I wonder is does anyone have a better image of this latter dedicated 'Kimberley Light Horse Memorial' in the MOTH Garden of Remembrance, Kimberley,?

Thanks very much for the clearer images of the cairn memorial David, and for the cairn/Kimberley view - fantastic to see Trooper Jospeh Thompson's name so clearly, and the KLH men who fell on the 25th.

I don't suppose you also have a clearer picture of the KLH Memorial in the MOTH Garden of Remembrance, Kimberley i.e. the one shown here (bottom of page) KLH Memorial MOTH Gardens
