The City of Oxford South African (Boer) War Memorial remembering the 142 men of the First Battalion of the Oxfordshire Light Infantry who died in that war has been moved three times: is this a record? It was first situated on the site of what is now The Plain roundabout in Oxford, then it was moved to Cowley Barracks in 1950, then to the Territorial Army Centre at Slade Park in 1966, and finally to the Edward Brooks Barracks in Abingdon in 2008. I like the photographs very much. Are they out of copyright? Do you think it would be all right if I put them on the page about the Oxford Boer War Memorial? And if so, would you like to be attributed, and with what wording?

Stephanie,

I worked for a long time at the War Museum, Bloemfontein South Africa and did research on the officers who died during the war for more than 10 years. At that time I worked from various books in the museum's library and I especially scanned photos from Black & White Budget. You may definitely use the photos.
