...."Exactly twelve months ago, three young men belonging to the village of Ettington, near Stratford-on-Avon, joined the Warwickshire Imperial Yeomanry and sailed for South Africa. Their names were William George Bailey, Edgar Frost, and Robert Ashby. The sons of well-to-do parents, they were in comfortable circumstances, and from motives of patriotism they resolved to go to the front, being the only young men from the village who volunteered. Monday's casualty-list announced the death of Bailey in Bloemfontein Hospital, from enteric; quite recently Frost died from the same disease, and at the present time Ashby is receiving hospital treatment, and his illness is causing anxiety to his friends."
Leamington Spa Courier, Friday 14th March 1902
