The school's memorial is now kept at St Matthew and St James' Church, Mossley Hill, but not on general view; it's in a room which used to be a vestry.

Trooper David Rew Imperial Yeomanry - there's also a plaque to David Rew's memory in Worsley Parish Church, between Manchester and Wigan.
Lieutenant William G. Belcher 38th Battery, Royal Field Artillery.
Trooper Wilfrid M. Johnson Imperial Yeomanry - at St Peter's Church, Woolton, Liverpool, are a plaque and church clock, both dedicated to Wilfrid Johnson.

Some damage to the roots on the left.

Rew was killed on the 30th of May 1900 and was subsequently buried in Kimberley, Belcher was killed on the 3rd of July 1900 and was originally buried at Blaaukopies, Johnson appears to have been killed on the 17th of December 1900 and was buried at Colesberg,
Certainly a very unusual and attractive memorial.

Does the badge (?) with the enamel-centre have some local significance? The device looks like holly.
My sources say-
"Trooper David Rew, Imperial Yeomanry" is number 2788 who served with 8th I.Y. and who was Killed in Action at Faber's Put on 30/5/00.
"Trooper Wilfred M. Johnson, Imperial Yeomanry" is number 9048 John William Moss Johnson of 32nd Coy., 2nd I.Y. who was Killed in Action at Hamelfontein on 17/12/00.
"Lieutenant William G. Belcher of 38th RFA" was Killed in Action at Lindley on 3/7/00. Conan Doyle comments that on that occasion, "The escort to the guns was inadequate, insufficient and badly handled and Major Oldfield and Lt. Belcher were killed in defence of the guns".

IL.

I was taken aback when I saw how large it was, not what I was expecting to see at all.

'Be strong and of a good courage' is a biblical quotation, and was also Greenbank School's motto. (Fourth search result down, but, unfortunately, the link to www.greenbank-project.org.uk no longer works.)

Greenbank School was founded in 1888 as a preparatory school, and the building in the linked photos was built in 1895. It closed in 1980.
