I salute Private Algernon Parker of the Cape Police who was mortally wounded during "a brisk little encounter with the enemy near Otto's Kopje" and died on 11 November 1899.

His name is recorded on this memorial.

There is only the one plaque that names the fallen as per Neville's picture.
