My jaw dropped when I saw it! A stunning memorial.

The sculptor of St. George and the Dragon was George James Frampton, later knighted, and best-known for the statue of Peter Pan, in several cities around the world, the lions at the British Museum, and the Edith Cavell memorial in London.

"The Archbishop of Canterbury had a busy day, at Radley College, on Wednesday, where he preached a sermon, opened a block of new buildings, unveiled war memorials, distributed school prizes, and made a speech at a luncheon."
The Citizen [Gloucester], Thursday 30th June 1904
