Amazing that that building remained in use as a hospital until 1961!

Well done to the city for remembering its heritage. When I was in Oakville ON last year I called in at its Memorial Hospital to try to find out exactly why it was so called. The elderly woman on the information desk told me that it was called the Memorial Hospital in memory of all those who had been born or died there. Clearly a ridiculous explanation and I later found out that it was built as a memorial to Oakville's WW2 casualties. So, less than 70 years after the original dedication, that had been forgotten. Which makes Red Deer remembering its ABW casualties all the more praiseworthy.
